Story

You play as a demon hunting streamer in space called Vango. Your life depends on how many viewers you pull and their engagement, so be sure to please the crowd!

Space theme??????

Your chat is very parasocial. They hate seeing anyone in your spotlight that isn’t you or a demon being stunned or comboed to oblivion. Hence, you need to manage your personal space and beat up demons before you lose too many viewers.

Controls:

• WASD/Arrow keys to move (W or Up is jump)
• Left click to do standard attack
• Right click to do utility
• Q to switch styles

Styles

Knight

The default style is Knight. Knight has a basic 3-hit melee combo, with each consecutive hit having increased range and damage.

Knight’s utility is a force pull, pulling enemies towards you and stunning them, making them a perfect target for a nice fat combo.

Gunner

By pressing Q, Vango whips out a gun. The standard attack’s bullet does very little damage but is a nice chip tool. 

You can hold down the fire button to do a charged attack, making the bullet travel faster, deal more damage and pierce enemies.

Gunner’s utility is Vango Locking In, summoning a second gun that is always aimed at whatever target you click on, given there’s line of sight. This gun fires simultaneously with your primary gun, so you can focus on two targets at once.

How to please chat?

Chat is the main feature of this prototype, as it dynamically reacts to ANYTHING you’re doing (yes, that means ANYTHING, even doing nothing). Your main strategy is to mix up your styles and attacks, since spamming the same attack will have diminishing returns. Chat also loves air combos, which you can easily do since Vango hovers in the air while attacking. Experiment with different combo routes!

Known Issues

This was made by (mostly) one person, so it's kinda rough.

• SFX volume is sometimes always set to 0, even if settings say otherwise
• Gunner charged shot's gun vanishes occasionally
